I think apparently that Desmond must have told Penny in 1996 that there are survivors on a plane that crashed....Penny not only knows perhaps that desmond is around but that he will be there for her....so the desmond we all know KNEW they were coming???? and started having his own flash fowards????

I am going to say no because we didn't see Desmond tell her that in the phone booth or at her door. Something that significant would have not been left off camera had it been said.

I'm not sure if what you are saying is the case, but what you said brings a whole new question to my mind.

When Desmond asks Locke "are you him?" when he comes into the hatch, do you think he was asking him "are you Daniel??" I know that Locke and Daniel look NOTHING alike, but as Desmond had said in regards to his flashes, they come in pieces like a puzzle and he doesn't see all of them. Maybe he had some flashes that he was going to meet up with someone important, but couldn't see his face, or where exactly he'd show up.

No, Desmond lost his memory during the helicopter ride. He doesn't remember the crash survivors. I think he did tell her about an island, though.

his memory was coming back after he was on the phone with her a bit....she is her constant....we havent seen him tell the stories yet to her maybe? no it isnt a spoiler ...just mho...well not even opinion...just thought?...lol
