Is it possible that our Losties survived the crash because they jumped time during the crash?

They did fly right into a thunderhead . . .

But why wouldn't all of the passengers have survived? It's not like our Losties took off their seatbelts and jumped a different way in than the others?

I would say that only those who jumped time survived. Maybe people have different levels of susceptability to time jumping.
