Here's my very first NEW lost theory that I have come up with on my very own and I think it's pretty concrete. I don't think it can be disputed...
The creators of Lost: Via Domus knew at some point during or finishing the game that they did not have a very good product on their hands. So, with time and money invested, how could they sell this thing to fans AND not lose any fans in doing so.
1.) Release the game during a season. People's interest in buying related products are always up when they are excited about the show again.
2.) Delay the usual Tuesday launch date for video games by one day, pushing back to Wednesday, one day between game and episode.
3.) Release it one day before the greatest Lost episode of all time. The Constant.
Now seriously, after playing and beating the game all of last night I was left with a few thoughts and feelings. I felt so used as a fan that I paid $60 to essentially watch 7 mediocre episodes of Lost centered on a character I had nothing invested with. An entire season DVD set retails for $50. The DVD's are the meat and potatos of what we love, the game is just a side dish and it's more expensive. I was so upset at what was given to us in Via Domus that I questioned my life, that I could buy into something so surely and so blindly. After it was finished I felt as though I didn't like Lost as much anymore. It was a very sad and angry day today. I knew I needed a good episode tonight to help clense me of this filth.
Enter "The Constant." Tonight's episode is clearly one of the best episodes of the entire show. So well written and acted. And we got to see....
1) Time jumping
2) Desmond's military service
3) The Freighter
4) Mr Widmore
5) Black Rock artifact
6) We heard Hanso's name!
7) Penny & Desmond phone reunion (I got all teary eyed)
and the greatest thing of all.......
We now know that time ON and OFF the island moves at the same speed.
That puts that arguement to bed.
Well played Lost. I will continue to be a faithful fan.
I just won't be buying any of your games again until they are in the $10 bin.
Thank you.
