I don't think it was Richard. As Jungalist_Movement mentioned the guy in the video looked stockier than svelte Richard. If it were Richard I think I would have jumped through the TV screen (I could be wrong though).

It kind of reminded me of Sam as I was watching it, but I later thought it could have been Richard...Ben did say something about one of "his" people had gotten themselves caught :shrug:

Yeah the only thing I can clearly get from the jumpy video is that Widmore discovered he was being taped and wasn't happy.

I'd have to watch again for other stuff... kind of a blur to me right now.

Was Widmore's look at the cameraman supposed to imply that he had spotted a person spying on him, or was it supposed to imply to Ben that he was onto him now -- sort of a message to Ben so to speak?

Just thought of something and it's a strech but when Locke said "the Red Socks?" and Ben said " I taped over it". Right? Maybe Ben did some time traveling and did the camera work himself ? Just a thought.

Yeah, Ben DID said he taped over the game. But that doesn't necessarely make him behind the camera, maybe he just copied the original tape over.

It could be this guy. Hey I know he's dead but we don't know when/what year, the video was shot. Perhaps the video was filmed before Ana Lucia shot him. I speculated he was "an other" a while back

If either one of these dudes are the guy who was one of Ben's people who got beat up by Widmore that would make Ben angry enough to bring her to the island (speculation again that Ben knew all the folks on board already) Ben would knowingly be aware that Ana was able to be agressive anough to perhaps kill someone like his competition for Juliet's affection.

So Ben would have had to travel into the future and physically given himself the Red Sox tape so that he could have taped over it and then come back and put it in his safe before being held captive by the Losties?? I dunno, I think that's a stretch to say that Ben taped it of Sayid. Unless there is more than one Ben somehow.

I don't think that fact that the tape says 'Red Sox' has to be taken that seriously. It is pretty easy to put a label on a tape and write whatever you want on it. I wouldn't put it past Ben to write Red Sox on the tape, in the hopes that John and Jack have a talk and John dsecribes the tape. Then Jack can be all "wait, I know this tape, Ben showed me the tape" and it would verift Ben's story, thus making John think that the tape of Widmore is new. So that Widmore tape can be older than the Losties time on Paradise Island.

Or, it was the tape that he showed Jack and it was made since the Losties landed.

Guess we will find out sometime.

After having seen all the various supplies that Ben has at his disposal, it stretches credulity that he would have to tape over anything. What, no blank Dharma tapes?
