This Whole Ben/Juliet Thing seems to me to be VERY much aliek the Phantom of the Opera.

He has been with Juliet all this time, Fallen for her, NO one wants him, He hasnt had anyone to Love him back.

She falls for another man, Wants out, and he wont allow it....

Sad sad Romance... (I LOVE POTO btw)

This just REALLY reminds me of that.

Especially the Mine...And Juliet's sadness with Jack, knowing Ben would try to Kill him.

I cant help but Pity and Be creeped out by Ben at the same time.

Just liek Erik in the Story, He is a sad creature, tortured by loneliness, yet he thinks that because he loves Christine he can Keep her for himself and force her to love him back. Trying to kill off anyone who would get in the way of him having her.

I just thought it was weird to see Ben acting jealous. Kinda funny because that's not our manipulating, one-step-ahead-of-you Ben.

Yea, Exactly. He is obsessed, Completely emphatuated with her, Thinking he brought her there, It was Him who gave her everything, and how can she not love him back??

I think you are 100 percent on the money!
Poor guy has no social skills save for mass murder and manipulation.

As creepy as he is, its Pathetic, and Pitiful.

The Phantom always kind of creeped me out but i Pitied him As much as Christine did.

we were laughing at Ben frolicking around the kitchen. It was pathetic and funny at the same time. A very different Ben than we are used to seeing for sure.

So...

Jack = Raul Juliet= Christine Ben=The Phantom/Erik it all works out in my head Jack is a lot like Raul, he doesn't Know, Believe Ben/The Phantom could be so bad/Powerful.

He loves Christine/Juliet and wont leave her, He wants to get he rout of the darkness/hell hole she has been in for so long.

Bur Ben wont let her go because he loves her and is obsessed and Jealous.

Poor Jules :(

Ironic that opera music was displayed throughout the episode including the dinner scene. Good observations.

Oh my god, I LOVE this thread. The first thing out of my mouth after Ben said "YOU'RE MINE!" to Juliet was "So... he's the Phantom of the Opera now?"

Creepy Yea??

Leave her in a crying heap, because he loves her in a possessive way, he doesn't care about her as long as she is HIS.

Way too POTO

"pathetic" is the right word. Engendering pathos. It was so awkward, so uncomfortable, I felt such sadness for him. (But moreso for her, lol)

i love the reference and think you're definitly right!
http://video.aol.com/video-detail/there-for-me-the-phantom-of-the-opera/3814197914

I've always wanted the girl to end with the phantom...a lot more charisma than the other but i suppose it was impossible...

last year i was refering to phantom of the paradise in a ship thread here (a juliet/Ben one) and the movie is a 70's version rearanged of the phantom of the opera...i'm so sure lost is using it...the main character is swan...the director is De palma like Carrie ....and there's plenty other things who reminds me lost in it...
you can find the entire movie in youtube, here's the beginning:

By the way it's a great movie!
