This is still very fuzzy. I will attempt to spell out an argument for both:

GOOD BEN

- Is special
- can talk to Jacob
- wants to protect the island
- want to find a way to procreate on the island so that they can continue their way of liufe without having to bring in outsiders

BAD BEN

- is lying and manipulative
- is capable of killing anyone
- apparently has Jacob retained in his cabin or perhaps within the ash circle
- is megalomaniacal

My foirst instincts are to say that he is acting in the best interest of the isalnd but if he has Jacob reatrained ot the point that he needs help then perhaps ne isn't the good guy but has been corrupted and corroded by his power like Darth Vader.

I loved your list. I don't think the character is as black or white as being good or bad. He is more gray but I might be abl to see his motives when we learn more about why he ids why he is.
