View Full Version : "It's OK, it's Kate"
flyinglo777 03-07-2008, 03:00 AM Um, why would they trust Kate at this point? Obviously Charolette didn't and whacked her on the head, but why would Dan say "it's OK it's Kate"? Like "no big deal she was just hanging out with a man who was holding you hostage, Charolette."
I think there's more to Kate wanting to know if they "know who she is" than just the fugitive thing.
Like there is some other way that they know eachother. Even when Charolette asked Kate to look her in the eye and tell her that she didn't think Ben...etc. It seemed that there was some familiarity between them.
Clochard 03-07-2008, 03:03 AM That wasn't Kate who she said that to, it was Juliette.
epontius 03-07-2008, 03:04 AM I thought that scene was a little sketchy. Kate knew they were lying as they stated they were out looking for batteries since the sat phone was dead...she could see that it was working perfectly. She positions herself and turns her back to a hot headed stranger with a gun to start pawing through something they are obviously trying to keep a secret.
I would have expected Kate to be a little smarter than that.

Then you think way too highly of Kate.

No Daniel says it to Charlotte.
Kate comes bounding out through the jungle, Charlotte whips around with the gun and Daniel says something to Charlotte to the effect of "it's OK...it's ok...it's Kate".
In other words, don't shoot her. I know this person.
We are also reassured from this scene that Dan is a very, very bad liar and is incapable of keeping a rouse.
Kate says "if you ditched your packs...what's that?"
Dan says "uh...uh...I borrowed it?"
Sheesh...

stop the insulting!

Re-read things before you try to correct someone.

THAT was between Juliette and Charlotte, as I said.

I can vocally dislike any character I please, as I am not being inappropriate about it, by any stretch. I am not calling her dirty names, nor am I spamming every thread with what I think of her. I've voiced my dislike for her in merely two threads since I joined the boards.
You do not control the opinions I voice.
flyinglo777 03-07-2008, 03:18 AM funny how one slip of the tongue can cause so much confusion in an online conversation I meant to type Juliette (not Kate) in that last paragraph of my first post and continue with how Charolette seems familiar with Kate, Juliette and Ben...but I got lazy) Anyway my apologies. But I hope you get my point.

I agree, Kate already knew they were lying so why drop her guard. Too contrived.
Then you think way too highly of Kate.
I don't think this implies someone thinks too highly of Kate. We've seen her in countless situations where she's acted "smarter than this."

I do agree that Charlotte, even with background history of everyone on the Island, is a little ... too well associated with the Others, namely Juliette.

I stand corrected. I jumped in too quick.
I think the Freighties are a little cautious of Juliette as they know she wasn't on the plane and has been on the island for a long while. Charlotte still seems to be a bit of a wildcard...going from happy splashing around to cold and brutal. We don't fully understand her background or part of the mission. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.
