has he been carrying some money in his pocket the whole time?
or was that his way of letting Ben know that he knows about Ben's secret room with the stash of cash?

I was thinking it was the Cash the real Henry Gale wrote his story on......

Sure he's got some money. He's had on the same pants, with his wallet in the pocket, since they crashed.

Crazy and silly that he's carrying around money. Not just a wallet, mind you, but a folded dollar bill handy in his front pocket. For what purpose? Did he conceive of that "zinger" in the morning and then deliver it to Ben? Seems completely incongruous that the uber-natural Locke, who spouts off about pharisees and hypocrites, is carrying around a dollar bill on this island after all this time. (there's a funny out-take on the Season 3 DVD where Terry shows off his knife throwing skills by nailing a dollar bill stuck to a tree. makes you wonder if he didn't just have the thing in his pocket during this scene)
Thematically, the scene seemed to be a way of indicating that Locke does not take Ben's power or influence very seriously, as if he can't raise the 3.2 million and he's trying to taunt him. This is also silly, since he's living in his house, where Sayid left his "secret closet" door wide open a few eppys back. Locke should've wandered in there by now and seen the same stuff. Now handing Ben an out-of-print bill of foreign currency from his own closet, that would've been something.
But it wasn't. Oh well.

After Hurley tricked Sayid didn't Ben tell Sayid he lost a dollar in their bet?

Wasn't it a one dollar bill Locke gave Ben? I thought the Henry Gale bill was a 20?
