 ...I have watched LOST Seasons 1-3 a couple of times and have noticed that when Ben was captured the first time....
...Ben was trusted by Locke (who let Ben go both times)...
...Once Locke was trapped by the hatch doors Lock had to "trust" Ben to punch in the numbers...
...REMEMBER when Ben was on the way to enter the numbers into the console it looks like he SLIPPED while trying to get into the air ducts?....
...WELL my theory is he had a TIMELAPSE like Des does later in LOST...
...Thoughts?
100%
...it still bothers me why (Ben) Henry asks "..How long was I...(OUT?)" when he (Ben/Henry) came to in the EP Lockdown...
...Replies?...

time lapse as in hes done it all before having "restarted" or his mind is timeshifting and passing info back and forth between the two?
If its the latter: Who or what is his constant? Dharma are all dead. could the island be his constant? Maybe Jacob?

Very Interesting thought. I forgot about that.
I thought he was aware of future events when Ben asked Locke, "Has the revolution started yet?" and when he said "It always starts with innocent comments, next thing you know you have a full-blown insurrection on your hands" - it was as if he was predicting something - or as if he was aware of Claires request to question Miles right before that. Of course it could have been a typical Ben mind-manipulation of Locke, but it seemed a little too accurate. Maybe it was a prediction of things to come. Sawyer didn't look too happy to see Ben released.
Anyway, I don't want to move the thread in a different direction, but there are probably many other examples of Ben having consciousness of future events.
I just can't remember other examples of him "losing time" - maybe when he was being operated on by Jack? - it was a little odd that he came in & out of consciousness while under anesthesia - just in time to wheel and deal to save his own life.
My only question is....How would Ben know that he needs a constant? It seems that people who are unaware of this die

...okay you are right about those who "...don't have a constant die..." but according to Faraday a constant could be .."anything". So Ben's constant could be a number of things but I haven't gathered that yet....
...My question is why is Des all of a sudden better after talking to Penny? His constant paid off. Faraday was right. The constant is the cure for the sickness of time shifting/travel/f*ck whatever we call it here...

that does seem suspiscious that he asked "how long was I?" in lockedown.
so is he manipulating future events from the past or the other way around?

...I would not say "...manipulating past(/present/future) events..." because from what I can remember is that TPTB (The Powers That Be; i.e. writers/producers) did say that events cannot be manipluated...
...OOOORRRRR, THAT is why Jack wants to go back so bad because he (now) knows how to manipulate time and wants to go back to The Island to prevent to plane from crashing and all that hoopla (remember Jack is ALWAYS trying to FIX things)...

yeah they have stated many times in the podcast about the time travel that the future cant be manipulated. If you want the official answer go back to the Flashes before your eyes epi and listen about how the universe always course corrects. seeing before hand shouldnt affect anything in the long term but short term COULD be manipulated without creating much of a paradox IE different route to the same end.
