Ok. Regina walks the plank with a chain overcoat and someone blew their brains out in the room prepared for Des and Sayid. What the heck is going on on the Kahana?

It would be a lot cleaner if everyone would just let Johnson do his freaking job!

i wonder if Walt is making everyone kill themselves, the way he made all those birds die. not intentionally, but his telekinetic energy is so strong that it's affecting others around him.

I think it's the Island, as the captain said... it's "the sickness." We are finally seeing what also happened to Danielle's crew.

It must be the island...the captain also said they tried to leave and weren't able to get to safer waters. If Michael is following Ben's orders maybe Ben knows what the island is capable of to its enemies

Take a look at the axe stuck into the wall of the ship (you can get a good pix on Dark UFO's website (http://losteastereggs.blogspot.com/)). WTF?!

Wow! I definitely didn't see that the first time around. That's another thing I'll be on the lookout for when I re-watch the episode.

I thought the same thing, but good point about Michael following Ben's orders so the island can do it's job.

So true about Danielle's crew!

Sickness caused by EM exposure and closeness to the Island? sickness caused just by being close to Island and not actually being on it? Why are so many crew member's being affected when they are 40 miles off shore?
Is this the same thing that happened to Danielle's crew? or a slight variation of it?
Severe cabin fever?? lol

I thought Walt was there and had something to do with it, a la the bird crashing into the window.

I think everybody is just sick of lima beans.

They need to get better food or else...!!!

All I know is that after being hyped up for Zoe Bell being on the show, she get 45 secs of screen time and offs herself. What a bummer. I was hoping she would be a bad ***. Oh well.

I haven't looked at the picture of the ax, but is it actually stuck in the wall? Or is hanging on the wall, there if it is needed. I'd think that would be a standard emergency item on a boat?

I agree with this. I wonder why certain people on the freighter aren't affected by it though. Does it have to do with constants, or something else?

LOL that cracked me up! I would get sick of lima beans too.

It's stuck in the wall like someone threw it. No blood on it, or none that I could see.

I read a theory somewhere that, with the sickness having different effects and all, that Regina's effect is her being unstuck in time just moments apart, and she keeps killing herself.. or something along that line. I believe it was made to compensate for the blood spatter on the wall, and it being hers.

I'm guessing we'll see much more of Regina and Minkowski in flashbacks.

For the parts they got to play thus far, The Powerful Bees could have saved lots of money and just got some locals to do what we've seen them do so far.

Well, Zoe Bell is a stunt woman so I can see why, in part, why she played Regina... her demise was a stunt (hopping off the ship)

Where is this axe that is metioned? I don't remember it.

I will be in search of axe this evening.

I think all personnel on the ship are relatives of Stephen King:drowsy:

I have been thinking that, but not committing to it. But the resemblence to Room 23 Mobi is noticable.

Daniel, Miles, Frank and Charlotte are all very animated people. But back on the boat....Zombie City. Deck hands are completely emotionless, the Doc has an Addams family Lurch about himself. An odd crew to say the least.

The ship scenes remind me a little tiny bit of the movie Event Horizon. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Event_Horizon_%28film%29)

There's strangeness happenin' for sure.

I have a theory that ties the "cabin fever," "lima beans, (aka lack of food)" and the comment about the "ship not moving" altogether.

Reference the perception issue regarding time going to/from the island. I'm not talking about time travel, just the perception of time that Daniel Farraday referenced.

What if; the ship is close enough to the island to have the days elongated? If 20 minutes = a day and a half, this would account for the ship not appearing to move, the shortage of food, and the extreme cabin fever.

I thought that too but I was just watching Season 1 over again and Danielle says that her crew didn't get sick until a while later when they wandered through the 'Dark Territory' and 1 of the crew members lost their arm. Doesn't sound like the same sickness to me. But then again I think Danielle's lying about a few things...

I also think this is Walt's doing. Check out the mobisode "room 23" for support.Wait, do you believe the birds intentionally killed themselves?

There's quite a big difference between a person purposefully shooting themselves in the head and a bird flying into a window. As far as we know there wasn't an epidemic of suicides at the Others camp...

Birds use magnetism to navigate. Walt creating/alterring a magnetic field could account for the bird pileup...

This was the most logical explanation I could think of for the pileup. I really want to see what occurred inside Room 23 that had the Other's so freaked-out.

Booga, I never noticed the eyes blinked in your avi until yesterday. I thought I was seeing things....had to stare at it for a moment to be sure.

Sorry to get OT. The freighter is a death ship.....it truly frightens me to find out more about it. But, of course, it won't stop me from watching.......

We don't know for sure that someone actually blew their own head off. It could have been an execution.

doesn't look like a fire station to me! the wall is shredded where the axe is sticking in.

Devi

Could be. On the last ship I was on they had a fire station with an ax hanging on the wall with a hose and a hydrant.

Looking at the photo again I can see where it says fire station. Perhaps that was the banging we heard? It would take a few blows of an ax to go through.

That ax is stuck to the wall because it is a fire station. They have axes and water hoses.

So by using that logic you could assume that regular firefighters just jam an ax into their firehouse wall after using it? No.. there is no fire station for this ax on the Suicide Ship. I think that there are more people affected by Minkowski's Disease than we know.

monkeyhateclean

It looks exactly like a fire station. The axe is mounted to the wall, not stuck in it. In this picture [ http://gallery.lost-media.com/displayimage-1392-319.html ] you can even see the mounting bracket on the handle.

You gotta look at the DarkUFO screencap a page back for the closeup. In that screen it's really too hard to tell if it's either in the wall or not. Although I do notice now in the DarkUFO screen it says Fire Station on the wall LOL

Axe holder (http://www.towboatjoe.com/dwl-axe.jpg)

On the show it looks like the holder's paint is peeling, but I'd say this has to be what's being used.
