DesmondMorris 03-13-2008, 11:59 PM They seemed to focus on that tube of toothpaste a lot. Sun has REAL toothpaste yea!

WALT: What is that?
[Sun shows Walt how to brush his teeth with it.]
WALT: Oh, I get it. It's like toothpaste.
SUN: [Sun says something in Korean that sounds like chia.]
WALT: Chia?
[Shot of Kate helping Michael back. Hurley runs up.]
WALT: Dad?
axpo23 03-14-2008, 12:01 AM Uh, she likes clean teeth?
Jenner 03-14-2008, 01:01 AM My question is...where was she going that she had to pack toothpaste? Because she started to pack up before she went into labor...didn't she?

It's possible that she was packing her bag to take to the hospital in advance *shrugs* I know I did that both times I was pregnant.
LostIslandBaby 03-14-2008, 02:16 AM Looks like some natural toothpaste or something to show that some remnant of her island experience has carried over to her "new" life.
Crikey 03-15-2008, 06:13 AM My question is... isn't that a bottle of Stetson behind the toothpaste? Ahhh thats a mans cologne...right? Isn't Jin dead?

Sun THINKS he is, at least. But a woman still has needs, don't she?!?
More seriously, she might keep a bottle of Jin's favorite cologne to sniff on occasion and think about him. Sense memory and all that...

kendra1966 03-15-2008, 09:31 AM There was a bottle of Stetson AND Chaps. Both of these are men's fragrances. I checked and the bottle of "Lady Stetson" is shaped differently.
seaquelost 03-15-2008, 10:40 AM When I saw a second toothbrush still in the toothbrush holder I figured that she still had all of Jin's personal items. She doesn't have the heart to dispose of his things.

Thing is, though... In this situation, they would've ALREADY been "disposed of" to some degree, at least! Sun would've had to find out where his things were being stored by his grieving parents for the past 3+ months, since the world thought they BOTH were dead all that time. Then she would've had to go around putting them where they would belong if he were alive. (I don't even know if she's returned to live in their old home, has she?) In any case -- pretty freaky-outie!

Very good point.....I didn't consider that at all. I did.....I assumed that she was in their old home. I fairly certain that she is, though.

I don't think that's clear at all, quite the opposite. If you watch the graveyard scene, assuming that Jin is alive and well but back on the island and Sun knows it, everything still makes sense.
Back to the original question, can anyone translate what's on this label? I too thought they lingered on it quite a bit.

I think she is in their same house - at least she has the same headboard on her bed that they had before, and I think it would be natural that she would keep Jin's things around - whether he is dead or just not there with her. I somehow think that maybe no one came to pack up their stuff. I'm wondering how long before the 'wreckage' was found and the 6 returned to the RW. Not that long I'd guess, depending on how far along Sun actually is when she goes into labor.
I believe she is packing to go to the hospital. That's what very pregnant women do.
But I do wonder if the toothapaste was something manufactured by Widmore Corp, or whatever. After all, her pregnancy test was from Widmore, wasn't it? Anyone have a cap?
DIonisis6 03-15-2008, 01:03 PM Can anyone read Korean and actually translate what the toothpaste tube says?
Silentbanshee 03-15-2008, 01:07 PM I think it's perfectly normal for her to keep his cologne around and as someone stated in another thread her putting on makeup as a grieving widow is normal too.
I kept my late boyfriend's cologne around and smelled it regularly for some time after his death. Sometimes you get sick of being in grief all the time, it can drive you crazy so putting on a front, and forcing yourself to face the world is normal too. And not to mention she's a celebrity so she may want to keep a nice appearance.
And the toothpaste was a nice touch to remind us of her scene with Walt. I didn't think much more of it than that. Would love to know what it said though.
LostIslandBaby 03-15-2008, 01:13 PM It says Jook Yeom Toothpaste. It's a real toothpaste, lol.

Very good point of that. Naomi seemed to know they were all considered dead. Seems odd to have everything in that home left in place.
Cool shot of the toothpaste too, Thanks for the link.

I know, lol they actually sell it at an asian market in my neighborhood & it doesn't say Widmore. lol crazy but I actually bought it last night it's pretty good. But why would she have Stetson cologne? That's an American thing & I don't think it would be Jin's cologne of choice.

Great links, IslandBaby! I guess it is a throwback to her whole natural remedies thing. Thanks!

Product placement?
BushRat 03-15-2008, 05:38 PM Maybe Sun keeps Jin's stuff in her home because he's alive. Sun might be taking part in a conspiracy to pretend that Jin is dead for some reason. While in labour, she slipped up and asked for him, but the doctor and nurses thought she was being delusional.
