in the flashback see screen shot below
so were Jin & Sun married in 2000? Assuming that being the last year of the dragon & the next one is 2012 & considering the Power Rangers popular in 2000? So if the date on the tombstone 1980 was the date of Sun's birth as some families do on tombstones. Sun & Jin were not married that young were they? That would have made Sun 20.
Is this a wedding ring?

Sure looks like a wedding ring. I thought Jin said that he was married for 2 months....
I also noticed that Sun would only be 20ish. I did not expect her to be so young!

Was Jin & Sun's marriage a secret from her Father? Why wouldn't Jin when he went to the hospital have introduced himself as Paik's son in law? Who was the woman who had the baby Jin gave the Panda to & why & wouldn't Sun have been there too with her 'sis"?

I believe Sun would have been older than 20 at the time of her marriage. I don't recall the exact words, but her parents were matchmaking for her because she hadn't found a husband while she was at university.

The panda was for the grandson of the ambassador to China, I believe. Or an ambassador FROM China? Anyway, it was to generate some business good will for Mr. Paik's company with the nation of China.

No. Jin explicitly asked for his blessing in "In Translation". Mr. Paik allowed Jin to marry his daughter if he would agree to work for him in return.

Jin was there as an employee of Mr. Paik's, not as his son-in-law.

Sun studied Art History in college. So, she would be 22 or so when she graduates. I don't know if she and Jin are supposed to be around the same age.
Jin definitely smiled and said that he had only been married for two months, so the ring would be on.
Did the shop owner tell Jin that it was the year of the Dragon? Where did it say 1980?
Edit: never mind, she was born in 1980.

The store owner never said they were in the year of the dragon, just that dragons were lucky during the year of the dragon.
The fact that he qualified the statement tells me that it was not, in fact, the year of the dragon.

He says at the end "I've only been married for 2 months", so they were married.
