View Full Version : Feeling a Bit Devastated
lomeinie 03-14-2008, 12:54 AM I am feeling a bit devastated to realize Jin is not going to make it alive off of the island -- well I assume that he dies and somehow Sun is able to take his body back to South Korea for burial. I've been a Sun and Jin shipper for a long time and my heart just broke when they revealed his death through Sun's post-Island flashforward. By the way kudos to the writers for fooling me into having false hope Jin had made it somehow with his pre-Island flashback end of the story.
Things I loved:
Jin forgiving Sun for her affair and also I am glad he told her he understood why she had the affair because in those days he was a different man. He has changed and become a more loving husband.
That the baby was the baby girl Jin wanted.
The fact Sun named the baby the name Jin picked out.
Cardielost 03-14-2008, 12:56 AM Since the tombstone lies and says he died in the crash, I think it's even odds he is still alive on the island, so don't lose hope entirely.

LockesKidney 03-14-2008, 01:03 AM ^Regardless, he will still be a part of the on-island story before the O6 get off for a while. Hopefully.

CardieIf Jin's alive on the island I guess something major had to happen to keep him there as I can't see him not wanting to go with Sun and unborn child. I know he'd do whatever he has to to get them off the island even if it means he can't go with them. I'll hope that's the case as I'm not kidding when I say I had tears running down my face during the last scene at his "grave".
100%

phorkster 03-14-2008, 01:36 AM The something that happens is probably something like "We are only able to bring a handful of you back. Sun is the obvious choice.
Vervayne 03-14-2008, 01:39 AM Who knows at this point why the six that got off were the ones who were rescued, we won't be getting that answer for a while. I just got the feeling while watching the episode tonight that Jin was not really dead, that the memorial/grave stone was staged. Maybe cuz Hurley was glad no one was around. He really dislikes all of the deception they've had to take part in since returning from the island.
MTQuinn 03-14-2008, 01:51 AM I really just hope that Sun eventually finds out about all of the pre-island sacrifices that Jin made in order to be with her. That would really put his actions into perspective and make her feel all the worse about the cheating. The fact that he keeps all this info to himself really shows his true character. RIP Jin.
islandchica 03-14-2008, 02:08 AM I don't think he necessarily died at all - I was under the impression that his and Sun's FFs were taking place at the same time.
This would support the theory that he faked his death, HOWEVER, it also means that him and Sun are clearly not together.
That's what really disappointed ME: That for some reason, they're not together. This episode had so much potential, and I was really getting into it (teary eyes and such), but to find out that him and Sun are split... And he might be remarried (if that was a FF of Jin in the real world, he'd have to be remarried, right? Of course, I guess it could've been a FB?!) that made me sad.
My mind is whirrling. Wow!

I have been thinking that ever since Kate is found raising Aaron in the flashforward. And think that now with Sun being back and Jin not. He is one of the "8" Jack talked about.
Maybe only so many people could go back, or only so many people didn't have radiation exposure to prevent them from coming back.

Jin's is a FB and Sun's was a FF. That is why Jin is still working for Paik Industries. He told the nurse he has only been married 2 months. That was shocking as all along until he said that I thought it was a FF.
jane_eire 03-14-2008, 01:11 PM The FBs and FFs run together for a Reason. It's a Gift from the Island.

Yes! I think there's going to be some major, chaotic event that leads to only a handful getting off the island. Obviously, we probably won't get that until close to the end. (or at least in the middle of next season)
