What happened to Naomi's body?

That's a good question. Since the chopper landed on the freighter, nobody's so much as mentioned her. I mean, I'd atleast think the captain might wonder why one of his crew members is dead. But then again, he didn't seem upset when Regina commited suicide.

Weird.

Maybe they threw her overboard.

As much concern as Cap'n Crunch had for Regina, this wouldn't surprise me.

As far as the crew of the boat went it didn't seem that Naomi being dead was very surprising or distressing.

After Sayid seemed so concerned about bringing her body back you'd think he'd care.

I seems very weird that there has been no mention whatsoever after so much attention to putting her on the helicopter.....WTF....

While it is unnerving that we have not seen her body, nor has she been mentioned (esp. by Sayid, who seemed so concerned about her before leaving the island - granted a LOT has happened since they actually got on the boat), it IS quite typical of LOST to suspend dealing with things until they can go into them in greater detail. They have to build up the suspense for a few episodes (or seasons) and then we finally get our answer.

Personally, I think the crew took her and put her somewhere (or perhaps even tossed her overboard) and we will see what happened in a later epi. I am definitely thinking we have not seen the last of Naomi BECAUSE of how Sayid was behaving about her body (unless they were just trying to show the difference of emotion between Sayid's respect for the dead vs. his seemingly cold-blooded murdering later on - but that is for another thread...)

Honestly, I think its not a matter of great importance. She died, and its unfortunate; given that they havent dealt with it, I assume that the Freighties forgave the death, understanding it be nothing more than an accident really; thats what happens when you drop into hostile territory.

So perhaps the writers have just glossed over it because the aftermath of her death has no bearing on the plot. Burial at sea, whatever the case may be. I certainly dont feel we need a funeral for Naomi. Perhaps her name will come up again, maybe when we see Abaddon again.

Maybe that had something to do with Frank's "errand." Just a thought.

Or maybe, that's what those guys are getting ready to do. Didn't the tall guy (I just can't remember anyone's name! - the guy with the Southern Accent who claims to be from Vegas) ask Frank if he was 'ready'? Maybe they are going to do something with Naomi's body.

Just grasping at straws...

Oh yea, she's dead right?? lol ; )
Good question.. seems like Naomi's body disappeared some where in between the Island and the freighter.
odd : )

that's what I was thinking. they seemed to show her body a lot, and focused on Sayid caring for her, to make me think it's not over for her. even if she's dead, she could still be playing a big part in the story down the line. or maybe the writers are just throwing us a curveball

I think maybe her "sister" came and claimed the body for proper burial - courtesy of the Lapidus Helicopter Hearse and Lima Bean delivery service.

Charlie sacrificed his life for the rest of the Losties and has been mentioned only a handful of times this season. TPTB have been slacking on following through with certain things.

I agree with the other posters that Naomi is probably overboard. Or maybe in a freezer, or maybe she is in the area that is not used that often. The crew didn't care about Minkowski or Regina's death, why would they care about Naomi?

I was thinking the same thing this episode, where's Naomi's body? And then when we saw that the helicopter had left and we hadn't heard anything regarding Naomi's body I was definitely confused. Something had to have been done to the body, since Frank left. And because Sayid was so concerned that they take her body back (he certainly seemed to have some kind of connection with her, it seemed he was even praying for her) I would think they would want to tie that mystery up. Whether they tossed her overboard, threw her into the incinerator or built a shrine for her, I hope we'll eventually find out.

If they hadn't been focusing on her dead body so much during the first few episodes, I would probably think nothing of it. But when has a dead body gotten so much attention as Naomi's? They were showing her alot! Hmmmmmm Christian Shepherds dead body certainly garnered alot of attention.........;)

It was my theory LAST week, that she was the inside "man". Here is how it works. She is the only person who had a flashback after death. If you exclude the Brazilian lovers who werent really dead, but in a spider bite coma. Perhaps, as a means of getting back, to the ship and sabotaging the communications, she faked her death using the same poison.
If you look carefully at last weeks show, you will see a woman bearing a resemblance to Naomi, when Juliet was first brought to the village years before.( Carrying a basket.) I figure she has been a mole in Widmore group since the beginning. This is what Ben must have told Locke.. so Locke isnt REALLY a murderer.
Sayid was deeply suspicious of her body because he must have detected something unusual.. shallow breathing or eye flutter? We now know that in the future, he is definitely working with Ben.. maybe is working with him now. But, I think the whole Michael as the mole was a diversion.

I believe that the "errand" that Frank left in the helicopter for was to bring Naomi's corpse back to the island. Somehow, they know that if they return it, she will come back to life.
