Remember when Juliet said this to Ben in a prior episode and Ben denied her?

I believe this is the real reason Juliet is so motivated to get Sun off island; It will be the only way to truly tell if 'it happens at conception'. Sun is Juliet's test case, just like her sister was.

Thoughts?

Good point. Sun is the true test case so this could be part of Juliet's motivation. I think that she also just doesn't want to lose yet another patient. In last week's episode, Juliet's crying showed that it is difficult and frustrating for her.

Since we the viewers see the birth of Ji Yeon, we now know that whatever is causing pregnant women to die does not happen at conception.

I suspect that something on the island is causing rapid aging in the second trimester (Remember what Richard showed Juliet back in season 3 in efforts to recruit her to the island?).

I think that makes alot of sense..i just dont trust Juliet line about Sun being her patient being the reason she is so concerned

Aw give Juliet a break. How is she supposed to get the results though if she must remain on the island and has no "woman on the boat" to help her off island?

thats true, although I think it would be simple for Ben to figure that one out

I posted this elsewhere and want to emphasize that if Juliet really believed that Sun was "her patient" wouldn't she be in Sun's FF? Somewhere? Anywhere? I know that Juliet has a life outside of the birth of Sun's baby, but to do something so awful like expose Sun's affair to Jin with the excuse that Sun is "her patient" and will do anything to keep her away from Locke's camp and off the island then why isn't she more present in Sun's future? I think there's more to it than Juliet honestly caring about Sun's baby.

Maybe I'm just not wording it right, but it's in my brain right. :lipsseal:

Couldn't it be that Juliet wasn't with Sun during childbirth because she didn't make it off the island? Sometimes, the most obvious answer is also the right one.

And even if Sun is Juliet's test case, why is that bad? Getting off the island is Sun's only chance at survival because all of Juliet's patients have died when they stayed on it.

Good thoughts everyone!

...for some reason I'm not 100% trusting of Juliet still. Like sun said 'she's very convincing', just like she was when she was screaming to Kate "They just left me! My own people left me!"...along with her not being forthcoming even with Jack (the tempest) makes me think that if Ben has the resources its been intimated he has that he could still be manipulating Juliet in some way...or will in the future. In other words the whole reason she was brought to the island was to figure out why the pregnant women are dying, and Ben says she must stay until she does, and Ben may be her only "real" chance of getting off island (or he might levy her sister in some way again still)...she might bring the results of Sun's off island pregnancy (with resolution) to Ben to free herself of debt to him...or in exchange for something...remember you don't have to be one of O6 to get off island (Richard, Ethan...)

I know, a lot of disconjointed thoughts... =)

Any of it make sense??

Great post. I'd completely forgotten about that. So now Juliet finally has the opportunity to take a woman off the island, who got pregnant on the island, and see if she and the baby live (yes, obviously).

I think the simple answer is that Juliet doesn't get off the island.

SOZE...I agree totally about the idea that the thing killing the women who are prego on the island could be the time issue, like rapid aging....or.... Juliet mentions something about the women's immune system turning on the fetus? how would that factor with the rapid aging of the fetus? I am science-challenged

I'm pretty sure that Juliet wants to get off the Island and be done with her tenure. She's not getting Sun off the Island to resume her research. Actually, she's not getting Sun off period! because she can't. But my bet is Ben can....Actually forgot to update my General Theory "Who chose the O6 and Why" to include Sun now that she's an official member of the O6.
