did anyone notice that michael appeared amongst the group of people in the scene when the girl jumps over the side of the boat in a hooded sweatshirt ? he screamed something like "get a rope" or something than later it was revealed that it was michael

I would have to watch again to be certain, but I only noticed the 2 'deck hand' type of guys in that scene, aside from the Captain, Des and Sayid. I didn't see any other background characters.

Good catch. The resolution on my recording isn't good enough to make out the face, but you can tell it's a black man in a gray hooded sweatshirt, and when "Kevin" is introduced he's wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt...

Its hard to make out the face, but its looks very similar to Mike, Des was the one screaming "get the rope"(along with Sayid).
Its also very possible that there's another black man thats apart of the crew, but I'd bet its Michael... GREAT catch.

When I rewatch this episode, I'll watch for that, but I didn't catch it at first.
