I haven't had time to watch the episode again yet. (this afternoon though!) I got so caught up in the Jin/Sun stuff that I can't remember, did Jack appear in this episode at all? I don't remember seeing him. If not, is this the first episode that he hasn't appeared in?

I figured we'd at least get the little obligatory line somewhere, like we did with Kate, but for the life of me I don't remember seeing Jack.

yeah he was there he passed the cereal to Jin and complimented him on his new English skills.

Luckily, none of his lines that I can remember from last nights episode were the forced/dumb-question/thank-you-mr.-obvious lines that he's had alot of in the last few episodes.

It must have been a week off for him according to his actor's contract.

I was glad to see him back to being Doctor/Leader, keeping in touch with Sun and Jin like that. He reminded me of S1 Jack - just with a lot less airtime.

Jack didn't appear at all in "The Other 48 Days", "Flashes Before Your Eyes", "Enter 77" and "Tricia Tanaka Is Dead".

In addition, in "Exposé", he only appeared a) during the crash sequence, which was solely recycled footage from "Pilot, Part 1", and b) on a monitor inside the Pearl, which was actually unused dailies from the shooting of "What Kate Did". So essentially, no new footage of Matthew Fox was shot for this episode.

And in "Further Instructions", he only appeared during Locke's vision.

I'm happy we're getting a break from Jack this season...finally we get to other character's back stories.

Thanks for that info Nevermore! I just rewatched seasons 1-3 over the course of the last 3 weeks. You'd think I would have a better memory. I think that my children's main source of nutrition is eating my brain cells.
