It's baffling.. richard looks exactly the same.. (that's really WEIRD).. and abbadon at locke's rehab place.. either way.. i think this episode showed us HOW important John Locke is to the island.. aeasmmikey 05-09-2008, 09:37 AM It's so weird that all these people are popping up from the past and present and future, perhaps.. I just wish I understood Matthew Abaddon's role. Is he trying to steer key people to the island, like Richard Alpert? He apparently did so with Locke, but he also recruited the Freighter folk. 100% I almost forgot - just before Lapidus took off with Keamy he got this look on his face and I was SURE that he was going to do something heroic like sacrificing himself to stop Keamy by flying on the wrong bearing. He did at least give the 815ers a way to track the incoming Keamy squad, but getting Keamy lost in time would have been even more effective, I think. we are getting nowhere 05-09-2008, 07:30 PM I almost forgot - just before Lapidus took off with Keamy he got this look on his face and I was SURE that he was going to do something heroic like sacrificing himself to stop Keamy by flying on the wrong bearing. That's what I thought. Lapidus refused to fly the helicopter, so Keamy started killing people on the freighter; I thought Lapidus agreed to fly the helicopter to stop Keamy killing everyone on the freighter. But once they took off, what's to stop Lapidus ditching the helicopter in the ocean? Who would Keamy kill to stop that? machinegun dandy 05-09-2008, 09:13 PM That's what I thought. I could be mistaken but the tactical nuclear devices that keamy appeared to be wired to, via heart monitor under his arm. Would prevent lapidus from doing so. TEM 05-10-2008, 05:45 AM The dead doctors body reached the Island before the helicopter. How come is it possible? The helicopter reached the boat faster than than radio signal? What is going on here about the space time issue? MysteryFan 05-11-2008, 12:07 AM Time seems like a game to the Island. Look at the time loop Horace was in. He kept saying Hello and chopping down the same tree. Granted, he's a dead guy, but still he was in a loop. Alpert was at Locke's birth, the same age as he is now - another time issue. And, like TEM posted, the doctor washed on shore before the helicopter flew there, but after the telegraph message. aeasmmikey 05-12-2008, 01:21 PM I could be mistaken but the tactical nuclear devices that keamy appeared to be wired to, via heart monitor under his arm. Would prevent lapidus from doing so. I'll leave it to the weapons experts to ID the bombs - I have no idea if they were nukes or not - but Lapidus made me think he was going to sacrifice himself to save everyone else. I thought he might crash in the water on purpose; he & everyone else on the helicopter would have died, but the water might have protected those on the freighter and the island I also thought he could have intentionally flown on a diferent bearing, either one known to be bad or one with unknown properties, to prevent Keamy from reaching the islandWhen he first saw the underwater footage he seemed to feel like it was supposed to be him on the plane - like he was cheated out of dying in the crash - so dying for a good cause seemed like something that would appeal to him. MysteryFan 05-13-2008, 07:04 PM I thought that too, aeasmmikey; I expected him to fly into the water -- what harm could Keamy do then? And when Jack held the tracking device, I thought it we would see the bleep (is that the technical term for it?) explode. When the helicopter flew by and kept on going, I had to rethink Frank's motivation. I guess Michael's warning, that you don't want that on your conscience, wasn't enough for him. aeasmmikey 05-13-2008, 07:13 PM I thought that too, aeasmmikey; I expected him to fly into the water -- what harm could Keamy do then? I'm sure Lapidus has SOMETHING up his sleeve, but we'll have to wait until Thursday to see. Which brings up another point of irritation. I'm bright enough to realize that they can't just give us one long 14 (or whatever) hour long episode, but I'm starting to dislike all of the mini-cliffhangers. I wish they could start and stop one plot point within an episode instead of making them all straddle between two or more. AnimalControl 05-13-2008, 08:36 PM i think lapidus gave the losties the phone so they could avoid keamy and his crew, not follow them like jack suggested. aeasmmikey 05-14-2008, 09:00 AM i think lapidus gave the losties the phone so they could avoid keamy and his crew, not follow them like jack suggested. I agree, but machinegun dandy seems to think Keamy has nukes. I could be mistaken but the tactical nuclear devices that keamy appeared to be wired to, via heart monitor under his arm. Would prevent lapidus from doing so. When nuclear weapons (or even just really big bombs) are involved, I think you are obligated to be very clear, and Lapidus just wasn't. Couldn't he have demanded a bathroom break to give him time to write a note and tie it to the GPS phone? I still don't know how he managed to open the door to throw out the phone without losing control of the helicopter and without anyone on board noticing (they didn't seem to react) but he could and should have done better. jnelson71 05-16-2008, 03:58 AM i think keamy is hooked up to the C4 on the ship. not a nuke. 100% i think keamy is hooked up to the C4 not a nuke dez 05-22-2008, 08:28 PM Quick question: If Keamy is already on the island, how will moving it solve the problem? Exile236 05-25-2008, 06:12 AM Ben is "working on it" or at least that's what he told Hurley when he asked it in the episode. aeasmmikey 05-30-2008, 08:08 AM It just happened, and I still don't get it. |
