View Full Version : Claire, Christian, and the Cabin... irhabi007 05-08-2008, 10:29 PM We all know these 3 are going to tie-in together somehow tonight... Thoughts? skyjuice 05-09-2008, 12:15 AM Is it just me or did Claire look like she found Jacob's secret stash? She looked kinda loopy, almost like all of the knowledge of the island fried her brain? It's probaly just me. mikec12321 05-09-2008, 02:07 AM ok ever since claire had her babby shes been crazy about him. she never wants to let him out of her sight, and doesnt even trust a lot of people with him. so anyways back to my point. when we see claire in the cabin its like she doesnt give a shit. all she does is smile and seem like shes on drugs or something haha. and shes in this cabin thats freaky as shit and she acts like shes right at home Inker 05-09-2008, 02:08 AM I thought she was dead or something like that lockesmithe 05-09-2008, 02:13 AM I thought she was dead or something like that Only on a Lost forum would that sentence actually make sense. Sawyers Mojito 05-09-2008, 02:19 AM thought drugs too, Like in ML she was giggly and loopy and laid back. Very Unclaire GEORGEIII 05-09-2008, 02:25 AM ok ever since claire had her babby shes been crazy about him. she never wants to let him out of her sight, and doesnt even trust a lot of people with him. so anyways back to my point. when we see claire in the cabin its like she doesnt give a crap. all she does is smile and seem like shes on drugs or something haha. and shes in this cabin thats freaky as crap and she acts like shes right at home It looked to me like Christian Shepard had told her about the secrets of the universe or some such, in particular after the two of them shared that creepy, creepy smile. I think that Claire is dead. irhabi007 05-09-2008, 03:25 AM Is it just me or did Claire look like she found Jacob's secret stash? Claire def. looks like she got ahold of some DI homegrown...:) Flotsam 05-09-2008, 07:51 AM Claire def. looks like she got ahold of some DI homegrown...:) I gotta git me some o' dat!! I'm gonna have to go back to the ol' Lost archives (DVDs), but didn't Claire once have a dream with Locke telling her that she'll screw everything up if she loses Aaron? This was when she was still pregnant, in Season 1, I believe. Does anyone recall immediately? Does that dream have any conceivable connection to what we saw in Cabin Fever? Flotsam 05-09-2008, 08:22 AM It looked to me like Christian Shepard had told her about the secrets of the universe or some such, in particular after the two of them shared that creepy, creepy smile. I think that Claire is dead. Amen. I'm not totally SOLD on the idea that Claire is dead (though I'm leaning that way), but it definitely seemed like Claire is in on some kind of cosmic realization and/or cosmic joke, revealed to her by Christian. lipgloss_and_revolver 05-09-2008, 08:26 AM She had that Mona Lisa smile -- like she have/learned a special secret. To me, she's either dead or she doesn't care anymore about everything 'coz she already know. FabFourLover 05-09-2008, 08:39 AM I agree. Claire is in the same "place" as Christian. IF we believe he is dead, than Claire is too. Her "mona lisa" smile is just an indication that she gets it now. She understands whatever is going on and knows Aaron can not go there with her but must go on his own. Much like Aaron had to move forward without Moses. JoZay 05-09-2008, 08:56 AM "I thought she was dead or something like that" Only on a Lost forum would that sentence actually make sense. LOL! so true.... Claire did seem to not be herself. She had a very sly half smile pasted on her face & it seemed to convey........oh darn, I can't put my finger what it seemed to convey...... I'm rather disturbed about her new attitude. Whoa, Claire honey, what has happened to you?! :eek2: StayinLost 05-09-2008, 09:15 AM It looked to me like Christian Shepard had told her about the secrets of the universe or some such, in particular after the two of them shared that creepy, creepy smile. I think that Claire is dead. Mmmm yes, that scene really bothered me. First of all, with Claire being such a doting mother, almost fanatical about it, I cannot for one moment believe that no matter WHAT Christian could have told her, she would be even remotely ok with leaving her son alone in the jungle for Sawyer and company to find. Obviously Sawyer would have found Aaron, but anyone who has children, especially infants, will understand me when I say that Christian could have told me that my baby would be under the protection of the Secret Service, there is no way in heck I would leave my baby alone, no matter what secrets I was in on, and remain so calm and cool about the separation. You would at least see SOME despair. She shows nothing at all. I don't quite believe that the dead are walking the island. Christian has seemed very much alive to me. But there is def something wrong with Claire, this is just too out of character. Vindubs 05-09-2008, 09:23 AM I thought she was dead or something like that I personally think shes dead...but that only seems to do wat this show does best who killed her and when? christian just popped up and was like yo come with me and she goes ok... so who killed her and when! ...GO littlecub237 05-09-2008, 09:31 AM I have watched "The Shape of Things to Come" a few times and I think she died when the house was blown up. Miles seemed interested in her and on LOST, characters never come out and say anything....they keep their thoughts to themselves until the viewer already knows. Kind of like Ben telling the gang that Michael is the spy after we already knew. It's almost like she's at peace and not constantly worried like her "earthy" self. Vindubs 05-09-2008, 09:35 AM i could buy it i like it GJ StayinLost 05-09-2008, 09:47 AM I have watched "The Shape of Things to Come" a few times and I think she died when the house was blown up. Kind of like Ben telling the gang that Michael is the spy after we already knew. It's almost like she's at peace and not constantly worried like her "earthy" self. Mmmm good point! Miles did seem very interested in her all of a sudden, yet the way that was played up, and Sawyer's reaction to it, leads us to believe that the sudden interest is more of a sexual nature than a spiritual one. And she did seem oddly unttouched by the house explosion. (It is SOOOO hard to remember all the things that had you scratching your head in this show) Then to top it off, her reacting to her long-lost daddy dearest appearing on the island holding his grandson with something akin to mere subtle surprise just wierded me out all the more. Hmm you may have changed my mind, maybe her and C really are dead. Grrr! It takes a GPS system to follow the twists and turns in this show!! Lockefan 05-09-2008, 12:40 PM ok ever since claire had her babby shes been crazy about him. she never wants to let him out of her sight, and doesnt even trust a lot of people with him. so anyways back to my point. when we see claire in the cabin its like she doesnt give a crap. all she does is smile and seem like shes on drugs or something haha. and shes in this cabin thats freaky as crap and she acts like shes right at home Claire was acting just as she did when she was a captive of the Others and they were apparently drugging her. She definitely seemed waaaaay too zenned-out, calm, tranquil, and almost giddy for someone whose baby we last saw in a tropical plant. She was definitely "altered" somehow. The death theory put forth by some is interesting but I'm with you: to me, she seemed more drugged than dead. Your basic dead LOSTaway is usually very lucid, clearheaded, and able to take you on an airport tour and talk about bringing the family back together, etc. They usually don't just contentedly sit in a rocker, seeming to smile at some unknown funny or happy thought. No, this definitely seemed like a drugged Claire versus a dead Claire to me. At least I hope she was drugged or otherwise altered versus dead. Back to Claire's psychic, as I always seem to come back to him, he said that Claire had to raise Aaron--no one else could. So we need her among the living. ...Unless dead people can be parents on the island...stranger things have happened. Anyway...Claire was creepy. I wasn't scared of her, I was scared for her. Like: what did they do to her? I mean, if she was dead, why was she so giggly and loopy-like? WEIRD! Madge 05-09-2008, 12:46 PM I'm not convinced she's dead, mostly because I just don't like the idea. There was something very odd about that scene though. Her smiling with Pop like theres some kind of inside joke. Odd and a little creepy. Felaries65 05-09-2008, 12:47 PM I didn't find Claire creepy. She seemed to have the attitude of someone who has just discovered some kind of self-realization. Whether she is dead or not . . . I don't know. As for Aaron, I believe that Christian hinted that he did not think it would be right for the baby to be at the cabin at that time. But I suspect that Claire will be back on the trail, heading for the other Lostaways. But she will be a different person. And I believe that Claire had intended to return to Aaron. But fate will lead him to being raised by Kate. leilasmommy 05-09-2008, 12:50 PM Yes, the way she was acting looked very off. Even if leaving behind her baby meant the saving of the entire human race, as a mother, she should be upset/distressed something, not giggly looking. I really want to know more about this! I even told my husband 'didn't it look like she was trying not to laugh in that scene?' eyris 05-09-2008, 12:55 PM I say she's as dead as Christian Shepherd. The only question is, how dead is he??? It was very "Twin Peaks" when she appeared in the cabin. She had a Laura Palmer smile. LostMyMarbles 05-09-2008, 01:28 PM Claire def. looks like she got ahold of some DI homegrown...:) It's supposed to be Hawaii's #1 cash crop . . . Heroic Poser 05-09-2008, 01:46 PM Dude...Christian told her everything, man. Eveeeeerrryyyythinggggg.....man. It's cool. Maalstrom Aran 05-09-2008, 02:25 PM Claire certainly did seem very comfortable. I think she's just so relaxed because for once she's in the know. Not getting chased around, shot at, scared *$#%&less. Plus she has been assured that her baby is safe and "right where he needs to be" I don't blame her for trying to relax and putting her feet up. I'm sure she'll enjoy this vacation in a dusty old cabin. It doesn't matter where you are if you have good company and some homegrown goodness. NotAnOther89 05-09-2008, 02:32 PM I gotta git me some o' dat!! That was in the episode Raised by Another. Locke says: "He was your responsibility but you gave him away, Claire. Everyone pays the price now." tboans 05-09-2008, 05:45 PM Claire or Aaron is actually Jacob. why else can Christian speak for Jacob? i figure Claire and Christian had plenty of time to discuss things and she is sitting there with those smirks and smiles on her face. it is the only explanation i have for it. But next week i will probably think something completely opposite. Flotsam 05-11-2008, 03:05 AM That was in the episode Raised by Another. Locke says: "He was your responsibility but you gave him away, Claire. Everyone pays the price now." NotAnOther -- Thank you. At the time I was trying to figure out what significance of John -- specifically JOHN -- saying those words to Claire in her dream. Now his presence in that dream is becoming clearer... maybe. |
