View Full Version : What?!?
TabbyRasa 05-09-2008, 12:38 AM Is it just me, or did anyone else think "what?!?"...
This epi was so disjointed...it was bizarre...
I regret encouraging 2 people to watch it...they surely will never watch LOST again.
UGH.
As much as I liked the episode, this certainly wasn't one that would be good to jump into if you haven't watched the whole series. In fact, are there *any* that would be good to jump into if you haven't watched? lol
My husband actually missed all of Season 3 (long story) and asked at the beginning of this season if I thought he could just catch up by starting current. After I finished laughing at him, I handed him the season 3 DVDs. He thanked me after he watched it all lol
Diesels Blitz 05-09-2008, 12:43 AM I don't think it was a good episode to recruit new lostaholics. :) Next week will be a different story though.
LostLaura 05-09-2008, 12:44 AM Great episode but very difficult. Lots going on. Short snippets with different groups and factions. Weird to have so much childhood FB stuff for Locke. (Note that we didn't get a FF!). I think this is the cause of the writer's strike. Major speed up of plots during this episode.
beema 05-09-2008, 12:44 AM Well you can't exactly just bring people in on this episode who have never seen Lost before and expect them to enjoy it. Of course they didn't get it, it's the middle of the 4th season and all sorts of crap is going on.
I thoroughly enjoyed this episode, all the way up until the end that is. Claire chillin in the cabin like it ain't no thang, Christian being there in place of Jacob (why the hell would Christian appear to Locke, he doesn't know who he is, it's irrelevant, is Christian Jacob's permanent spokesperson now?), and then the whole thing about moving the Island. That all totally pissed me off.
The rest of the episode however -- the goings on with Abbadon, Alpert, and Keamy, all were great.
Guinevere 05-09-2008, 12:45 AM Bless your heart, Tabby! You couldn't have known. For us die-hard Losties, it was great but, for someone new, they're probably confused as heck. ;)
Ejoiner 05-09-2008, 12:45 AM Well, it would be totally confusing and leave any new viewers really "lost" but I thought it was excellent for establishing ties and connections while moving the plot toward the season finale. And man, the shot of Richard in the nursery sent shivers up my spine!:)
Wonderfully Evil 05-09-2008, 12:45 AM creepiest episode yet.

Wow, Tabby, I had the opposite reaction (I was just PMing you about it)! I thought it was so intriguing - I loved seeing the S1 Locke back in action, loved the childhood recruiting stuff, loved Christian as arbiter of island destiny, and even liked creepy, sinister islandized Claire. A lot of it (the freighter stuff) didn't make much sense to me or really hold my interest, but I loved the Locke story and twist between him and Ben.
Of course, it wasn't the best introduction to LOST for newcomers, I agree.
GettinLost 05-09-2008, 12:50 AM It was a little disappointing - I rated it a 7 - which is the lowest I've rated an episode so far this season. But it was very informative. And as usual it raised more questions!
I would never recommend people watching LOST at this point unless started with Season 1. I think it's interesting - but it would be too confusing.
TabbyRasa 05-09-2008, 12:59 AM I hated it...did not even pick up the recording of it that a friend made for me...last week I was at their door 10 minutes after the epi ended to get the recording, and I rewatched it that same night.
Since I read spoilers, I looked forward to seeing Abaddon and Richard...and was glad to see them, but I think the writers failed in a major way. OMG did I mention how much this epi sucked? ;)
Darn...I think I am falling out of love with LOST.
Karri 05-09-2008, 01:01 AM OK closing this thread, remember we have loved it, didnt love it, rate it and the discuss threads for this basic topic.
