That was unquestionably one the most twisted scenes in the history of the show. Claire seemed like she was possessed. It was very surreal.

Yeah, I am really curious to know how the Shepard clan ties into the Lost mythology. For a second there I thought that Claire might be dead. I mean she seems pretty comfortable seeing her dad, but then I realized, she doesn't know he's dead, right? She doesn't know that she's Jack's sister and that he was in Australia to bury their father. For her, maybe she just thinks "Hey, Dad's on the island." I can't wait to see John's reaction when he realizes that Christian is Jack's father and Claire is his sister, and they were both in Jacob's cabin.

I have no idea what's going on, but I'm intrigued.

It was so twisted and reminded me of Emille de Ravens role in Rosewell as an evil Alien. Love Claire getting more screen time.

I have to agree. It will be very interesting indeed, to see how TPTB tie it all together towards the end of the show. We have two years to go.

Claire's behavior reminded me of how Laura Palmer was in Cooper's dreams, and in the Black Lodge... if anyone remembers Twin Peaks, you'll know what I'm talking about.

In that scene, it would have been cool if it had been three chairs... Christian in the middle, Claire on one side and Jack on the other... all of them being weird and mysterious...

like a holy trinity of Island Weirdness.

Excellent parallel!

It is difficult to know if Claire is aware of what's going on or not -- just as it was difficult to determine Laura's awareness of her role in the Lodge -- but my suspicion at this point (until further notice) is that Claire has been filled in by Christian.

If that's the case (and he probably did tell her at least some of what was going on)... does she know Jack is her brother?

Man, I forgot all about the Twin Peaks finale, "Through the Sicamore Trees." But the Black Lodge is alot like the Cabin, Claire was doing a Laura Palmer, that would make Locke like Agent Cooper, Ben like Wydham Earle, and Jacob like Evil Bob!

But if a backwards-talking dwarf or a bald giant appear on the Island, I'm turning the channel...

Yeah that was for sure..she seemed kind of on the creepy side

The scene was excellent.
It left me with the question of Why was sweet Claire so creepy? She almost seemed evil.

Aww I think she was very cute in that scene, not creepy at all.

She has definitely crossed over to the "other side" to join the ranks of Abbadon, Richard, Christian, and so on, whether that means she is dead or not.

The Onion has a Lost blog in its AV Club now, and someone left a great comment regarding that scene...

"Hey, Locke! I've got good news. That game you like is going to come back in style."

"She's my daughter, but doesn't she look almost exactly like Claire?"

I think the Twin Peaks analogy is interesting. I just saw a blurb in TVGuide the other night that the person we saw sitting in Jacob's chair the very first time that Ben took Locke there was a crewmember in real life. What was interesting was that that crewmember was the guy who had played Bob in Twin Peaks! I kid you not. I thought that was really kind of creepy.

I've figured it out. :)

Claire and Christian do not know that they are dead. Well, maybe Christian knows.

It was her cuteness that contributed to the creepiness. But yes, she was cute.

That would be very, very creepy because Frank Silva has been dead for 13 years.

Frank Silva was a set decorator on Twin Peaks. One day he was crouched behind a bed on the Palmer house location, and his reflection in a mirror was caught on film. David Lynch loved the image, and the character of Killer Bob was born.

And since he died, he's been decorating that set over and over and....
