I noticed that and the fact that Sawyer failed to mention that Locke was also with Ben and Hurley. Do you think he failed me mention Locke in fear that Jack would change his mind ?

Hurley is like Sawyer's Bigger Little brother. Of course he's worried.

No, I think that it was more of the fact that Hurley was the one that Sawyer was worried about. Locke is right where he wants to be, and seems to fend for himself pretty well, no reason for Sawyer to feel protective of him. Jack probably would assume that Locke was with Ben and Hurley as well.

Hurley is like Sawyer's Bigger Little brother. LOL! I like that! Yeah, plus Hurley is a kind of innocent...Locke's made his own decisions re: the island, but Hurley's been buffeted along, not really responsible for his situation.

I think he mentioned Hurley because he knew Jack would worry about him too and he did - he even used James' line "Son of a B____!" which I thought was funny because he hasn't said that before. I think that James also showed Jack a side of himself that he hadn't seen much and that was James' concern for the Losties - Hugo in particular.
I think James didn't mention Locke because he knew that Jack wouldn't give a darn.
I'm JuSt so glad we got another JuSt scene before Jack leaves the Island!! It's gonna be a long dry Season 5 without those two fighting and working together.
