View Full Version : Anyone else think Sun just saw Jin for the last time?

When Sun walks out of the door of the freighter cabin, there is a moment emphasized (with sad music and everything) of her looking back over her shoulder at the door, while the wind blows it closed. Perhaps the last time she sees Jin?

Eek... I'm starting to think he really does die... I was hoping not. And Desmond is in there as well.

I hope not. I wondered why Sun was looking back at the door like that though, the camera lingered on her long enough for it to be significant.

Ohhh, don't say that! So glad to see Sun get the upper hand w/ her dad. I don't want Jin to be dead!

I don't think it looks good for Jin. With two weeks until the finale I have time to 1) grow out my fingernails so I can bite them down over the course of two hours and 2) stock up on tissues.

That's what I thought too, but I hope hope hope we're wrong. They deserve a better goodbye scene than that! :frown:

I'm still going to hold on to the increasingly unlikely idea that Jin is still alive on the island.

I really hope not.

Well if that boat blows up, it aint like Sun's gonna survive either. There was enough C4 down there to pulverize the entire freighter.

I was thinking the same thing.

I sure hope not but it looked like they're leading us in that direction.

Well, obviously Sun does survive... and yet Jin and all the redshirts who made it to the freighter in this episode do not get off the island, so perhaps Sun somehow gets off the freighter before (if) it blows up.

But that would probably mean Keamy dies (if speculation about the thing on his arm being a dead man's switch connected to those explosives is correct) and dangit, I like me some Keamy!

No, I'm sure there will still be a few more Kwon moments before Keamy's bomb goes off.

Anyone know Korean? What did Jin say to Sun in the engine room?

That's exactly what I was wondering too?!! It's the only Korean in the episode that wasn't translated... Grrrr!

I think Jin really is dead, he has to be. I feel that whatever cathartic reaciton the audience got from Ji-Yeon would be robbed only to find out Jin is alive. In addition, the way Sun spoke of JIn in front of her father today was packed with so much conviction to convince me she was telling the truth.

I don't know Korean, but it really came off like "get your pregnant self and the baby you're carrying out of the room filled with explosives," especially when followed with "Now!"

Really?! I was thinking more like, "Oh crap... honey can you go bring me a sandwich, I'm gonna be awhile."

Yes, that scene of her all alone out on the freighter deck with Aaron...with the music...very ominous.
They've had such wonderful goodbye scenes before (making up before the raft sailed, Sun leaving him to shoot off the dynamite in TTLG) that I think they've said what needs to be said.
I sure hope Jin doesn't die!

I don't know. I'm not going to make assumptions one way or the other.

I just rewatched the scene with Sun and her father. A few things jumped out at me.....

1. the 5 bank accts/5 adult survivors...discussed in a previous thread
2. she states, "Oceanic paid US our settlement for the crash" (sounds to me like the settlement was pooled together to buy Paik....why wouldn't she phrase it like, I received the settlement for the crash from Oceanic)
3. And finally...she states, "Two people are responsible for his DEATH."

So yeah, my guess, sadly is that Jin dies.... :(

I agree. I think Jin will die saving Sun and possibly Desmond when and if the boat explodes.

Yes, I think so. Or at least that's the last time she'll see him until the Oceanic 6 go back to the island. Same with Jack and Juliet when Jack said he'll see her in a couple of hours. I'm thinkin'... no.
