They aren't dying yet. We don't know their stories yet, and clearly they will tie into the island stories next season.

I was truly surprised to see Charlotte watching him like that. I didn't take other people on the forum seriously when they said that these two had feelings for each other. But I believe it now. It actually was cute! It's nice to see that Charlotte does indeed have heart.

OMG I know so adorable! The way she looked when Dan left, so worried. They just could not get cuter. And go hero Dan! Wish he knew about the explosives though. He knows what second protocol is but he doesn't know the boat is rigged to explode? Bummer.

We'll just have to disagree on this one. I think she was looking at him like she was concerned. If she was thinking of herself she would have looked more pissed or worried for herself she would have looked the other way or tried to get on the raft. She was looking at Dan like she was willing him to be careful and make it back.

I think, after last week's comments by Sun and Jin, we're supposed to be taking it as concern on Charlotte's part for Daniel. We know there is something there between them.

It was nice to see a human side of Charlotte, and I got the feeling as with a lot of the relationships and friendships we saw in this episode, that is the last time they will see each other for a long, long time, I think one of them is going to get left on the island and one of them is going to get out to the world.

She was definitely worried about him, and I think a little of attraction was also mixed in because of the fact that he was stepping up to be a hero at that moment.

I took they're parting look to mean that they're not going to be seeing each other for a while, and that that is somehow going to be the reason why Dan was crying the first time we saw him... that maybe he gets off the island and then at some point mentally timeshifts back, to try to go back and get her on the first boat, but his memory is shot. When he sees that 815 and everyone in it is supposedly dead at the bottom of the ocean, it brings back his sense of loss of Charlotte, but he can't remember.

Okay, that may be a bit much to infer from a look, but I'm sticking with it...:biggrin:

I really liked that moment too. I'm not necessarily shipping them, but I definitely felt the moment of connection between them. She was concerned for him and their whole situation, especially because he said they had to get off the island, like, now! He was being so heroic, stepping up to ferry people even when Juliet and Sayid didn't trust him, and going back to the island that he knows is in massive trouble. Loved it all.

What's their ship name? LOL. I find them to be extremely sweet and strangely uncomplicated which is nice. They kind of remind me of how Claire and Charlie were in the first part of season 1.

That would be nice, but I suppose I want them to stay, not just in a weird way to re-create the C/C island romance that they just don't have with any other island relationship, but also because I want some answers about the island and they (along with Miles and his ghost whispering abilities) seem the best tickets to get some! :biggrin:

While I happen to agree that the two are obviously into each other, I feel that she looked more upset that she wasn't on that boat than concerned about Daniel.

I looked at her eyes & I saw "pissed" and concerned for herself, not him. I think she does feel affection for him, the same way that anyone feels affection for a puppy dog that follows them around. I'm just not seeing any "love" from her for him.

I agree with those who thought that Charlotte just wanted to get her butt on the raft.

If you rewatch, you will see that she is the first to try to board the raft, putting her
backpack into it. Then Juliet puts her arm across in front of Charlotte to hold her back
while she makes her comment about Sun being pregnant, etc.

Charlotte may like Dan, but she was doing her best to put herself in front of everyone
else. In her defense, Dan did tell her the night before "we've got to get off this Island
right now!"...but still...

She may actually have a thing for Dan
as on the podcast, Rebecca Mader said that she was surprised and pleased to see something in the script.
But I don't think it came across on screen.

It's kind of hard for me to read her look. Although I'm really rooting for these two (no I won't call myself a "shipper" :biggrin:), I did take it to be a look of concern for herself getting off the island... sort of confiding that concern to Dan, and Dan's wave being a sort of reassurance that he'd be back for her. It could be a look of pure concern for him, and that would be even nicer, but either way, she was putting her complete trust and faith in him, which was pretty sweet.

Either way, I keep feeling that him crying while watching the news about the 815 wreckage being found (even though it was in the past -- whatever "the past" means) is going to be related to him getting stuck off the island while she's still stuck on it.

The actress did say that we would learn a little more about her character in the finale. I don't know if it relates to her feelings for Dan or not, but whatever it is, I'm looking forward to learning it.

ETA: I think she is, at heart, a very sweet and tender person. She just has some social interaction issues which keeps that from being seen, except when she's with Dan. The way her personality is so transformed around him, there is no way she does not have some significant emotional investment in him. It's like she's goes from the alpha-vincent (I language-filtered myself to reduce the server load :biggrin:) to the lap cat. "At least you're making progress, Dan. I know you can do this Dan. Yes, I guess I should reflect on my bad attitude, Dan. Okay, you go make the medical station safe for me, Dan."
