At the press conference, the maps they were using showed the area that the fake plane crash was staged, not where they really crashed. If Widmore staged the crash, why would Oceanic go along with that story?

Unless they move the island to nearer the site of the fake plane crash ... this so makes my head hurt!

Oceanic wants to hide the truth. And this could be for a number of different reasons. One is they are with Widmore. But really, we are just guessing.

To me, the question is how deeply are they connected?????

I don't get the question, why would Oceanic know it was a fake to be going along with it in the first place? The plane's too deep to be recovered or closely examined. I assume Oceanic would think the same thing as the rest of the world, that it's the wreckage of 815.

As far as Oceanic know the survivors walked up onto a beach and were found by fishermen 108 days after the crash. If anything this confirms that the discovered plane is Oceanic 815 and would put any potential questions about it to rest in the airline's mind.

There's no reason for Oceanic to know anything about any conspiracies.
