Is that what Jack said?

If he did I don't see how that would jive with Kate being six months preggie when the Marshall caught her in Australia and Aaron now being "almost five weeks" old in the FF. That's the biggest 5 week old baby, I must say.

and I cannot believe they actually pulled the pregnancy lie off so easily. I've been holding out for some kind of time discrepency that would makeit more believable for Kate to at least been a little less pregnant when she got on 815.

No, he said it had been something like 10 months since he was supposed to have given the eulogy. So a little over three months on the island and a little under 7 months off.

The lie says that they left the smaller island to sail to the island where they were found on day 108 (of course!)

100 +/- days on and off the Island.

No, no, Jack doesn't have the memorial service till some time after the O6 return. Since Christian's body is on the island, there was no rush.

I know!!! I'm kinda suprised people don't question him only being 5 weeks old! No wonder that reporter said they all looked so healthy! And poor Hurley...he's still dealing with people wondering why he hasn't lost weight! Guess they can't reveal about the Ranch dressing! :p

I'm not so crazy about the pregnancy lie. The age they give the baby is just way too young for how he looks and acts. I would think that a pediatrician could tell by checking the fontanel and other growth points. I'm sure that it would be insisted that a baby that was born on an island and never checked would get a very thorough exam.

Also, how are they going to feed Aaron from now until they hit civilization? Without Claire they don't have a lactating mother and I doubt anyone thought to bring the cow.

I was glad when the one reporter started questioning it. Maybe their lie starts to unravel at some point with the media.

Yeah, I thought the baby age thing was a stretch. I am surprised the reporter didn't comment, "That the largest five week old baby i've every seen." Because it was to us watching.

About the lie unraveling, I don't see that happening. Knowing the media and the way the news goes, they'll be off on other topics in a few days. However, we do see Hurley and Jack unraveling in the future.

Remember, It has taken 4 seasons to get to this point. I also think they rarely use newborns for filming. I wonder how many Aarons there have been so far? But 5 weeks fits with the timeline. Since she said 5 weeks at the press conference, I'm assuming that they got off the island almost immediately.

If the memorial for CS takes place 7 months after the O6 are back, Aaron would be approx 12 months. He looks exactly the same as when they landed. That 10 months got me wondering too. I agree with all of you Aaron doesn't look at all like he is 5 1/2 weeks. There is something about that lie that bothers me. It seems obvious to me that the records at the time of Kate's arrest would state the fact that she is pregnant. Were the records falsified? Can't wait to found out more...

Well, she could have hidden her pregnancy like young Emily did in 'Cabin Fever' - they were even at the same stage of pregnancy when the big events supposedly happened: Em getting hit by the car and Kate going down in the plane.

What I thought would have been a better "lie" though would have been that she was maybe just shy of 5 months pregnant and then had Aaron a bit early, which would have been understandable considering the stress they would have been under. Five months pregnant is a LOT easier to conceal than six months pregnant :undecide: plus, a baby born a month early can thrive almost as well as a full termer.

This would mean they didn't hold the funeral until 7 mos. after they returned. The baby didn't seem to have aged 7 months.

This really bugged me to. The story of Aaron and this 10 months business don't add up.

I thought he said they were on the island for 10 months...that threw me off with the Oceanic story but it's only the memorial being held 10 months after the crash.

I don't think the lie about the baby is a huge deal.

Under the circumstances who is really gonna push on the size of Aaron or the story of Kate being pregnant...they did just come back from the dead in the eyes of the world so if a few things don't make 100% sense right now, no one is really gonna push.

But that one reporter definetly didn't seem to be buying it.

I wonder if Christian got permission from Jacob to go to his funeral!

Not only was there no rush since there was no body, but Jack was technically dead himself and so was Kate (which explains the delayed legal proceedings) and there were other priorities there such as getting their identities back. It was good to see that he was emotionally ready for it and the fact that his mother didn't blame him anymore and they had reconciled probably helped. So maybe that's when it felt right and Jack finally felt like he could talk about it and do it right (he's mentioned to Sayid before that he hates funerals and was struggling with what to say at Christian's service).

They can't use babies that correspond with Aaron's real age because they're very hard to cast and the laws are very strict about the humber of hours they can work. So no, Aaron as a one year old didn't look much older than Aaron as a ten week old because Aaron has had increased screentime lately and they can't keep two month old babies on set for prolongued periods of time.
