It looks like The Orchid stations is disguised.
The real purpose of The Orchid lies underneath.
Ben instructed John to go to a certain location,
find a handle and it will lead you down an elevator
perhaps to where the the video with Halowax and
the bunnies was shot.

It reminded me of the scene in "Spies Like Us",
where 2 men were lead to an abandoned burger
and dog stand in the middle of the desert. When
they entered a voice over the intercom said, "Why
don't you gentlemen have Pepsi". They took a cup
put it under the nozzle, and pressed the Pepsi button.
Suddenly they were whisked down a long elevator
shaft to a secret military facility.

Can't wait to see the Orchid and what i holds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2 weeks to go!

Ben's description to John about how to get to the Orchid reminded me of the Keymaker's description to Neo of how to get to the Architect in The Matrix Reloaded.

That too.
I hope Locke remembers what hole to climb through, to turn left and go 20 paces to a
patch of Anthurium's on his left in an alcove on the north wall and reach down with his left hand (why not the right?! who knows) and activate the elevator.

Maybe there is a self destruct button on the right. The last thing we need is for Locke to blow anything else up. The left John, the left!!!!

I thought you were referencing Suicidal Tendencies' song "Institutionalized."

Just a Pepsi, but Ben wouldn't give it to me, Ben wouldn't give it to me...

I know they didn't really have time to discuss it, but it kills me that no matter how Ben lies and lies to him, Locke is still just going to blindly follow his orders. What's he supposed to do once he gets into the station? I don't remember that being discussed. I would have thought Locke would have said "why?" or "and then what?". Something like that.

That reminded me of Hurley's funny response to Ben's instructions..

"Whoa....wait...what?"

I had a good laugh when Hurley said that....it was perfect.

Maybe the orchid is self explanatory..
I hear you though, I would have said
something like, "uhhh, ok", followed
by a long puzzled look and silence.
"Should I wait of for you or Jacob,
or am I in control now"?

"Am I gonna be pressing a button
every 108 minutes"?

Once he gets down there, there will be a copy of "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Moving The Island" waiting for him.

Spies Like Us has win all over it.

Perhaps we need some homages to that movie in Lost? Like Jack can claim his left hand has no feeling to Kate. Or Bob Hope could "play through" somewhere on the island.

Awesome, or perhaps the Losties could raid the Mercenaries late at night as
"Soul Finger" by The Bar-Kays echoes through the jungle.

I did a LOL on that one! There's another thread somewhere about the number of times Locke has messed up. The Locke lovers are in major defense mode over there. I love Locke too, but he messes up a lot. I'm sure TOQ would say the same thing.

Christian had a point when he told Locke to ask the one question that mattered, if he hadn't told him that they would have wasted hours on all of Locke's useless questions. He never asks the right ones, ever. Instead of asking "why?" or "and then what?" as you pointed out, he asked about the guys with guns...

Here's where I would fail as an action hero - I have no idea what an Anthurium looks like. If it were left to me, unless the flowers were clearly labeled, the island would be doomed.

Perhaps all successful action heros are really just florists at heart?
