What will be the affect on the people left on the surface of the island when Locke moves it?

There's a lot in Lost that remains me of the Well World series of books.

I think the Orchid Station is the station that controls everything. When Locke moves the island, we will see a little bit of the power of the station. I think "Adam and Eve" will use the full power of the Orchid Station.
