Karen Decker, the Oceanic Airlines representative, seemed to have nodded to someone when she came from the cockpit to the cargo on the way to speak to the O6. She definitely greeted someone.

Wow! Nice catch everyone... she definitely nods to someone and says "Hi". I'm guessing it's either Abbadon, Widmore, or Desmond. I could probably make a strong case for any of those three.

Yah I spotted this too. I think you can make out the top of the person heads as she approaches the 06. Either it's a bald head or a helmet or something, I dunno. Gonna watch it again no doubt :P

I just re-watched in slow mo, there is a reflection of light and a shadow, but no discernible head. The other interesting thing is that there is another spooky drawing on the back of the plane there... it looks like a face of some sort. :eek2:

No if you watch when she finally gets back to the end and starts talking to the 06, they do a brief cut wide shot and the 06 are sitting at the very end of the plane... far too far for it to have been directed at Sun, plus Sun was sitting in the middle of Kate and Sayid.

Oh! On that wide shot I just mentioned you can clearly see a set of legs and a pair of boots!!!

Ok there is definitely a person there. They seem to have dark skin and dark hair with a high hairline. Not Ben, that's sure. Complexion, not nearly dark enough, and hair seem to rule out Abaddon.

No one knows Abbadon except Hurley in the future and Locke. But they aren't there...

Could it be Michael? I have a hard time seeing the screen shot clearly, but it would make sense that they wouldn't want to identify him as a survivor with his son home with grandma. And the Walt question is certainly intriguing.

You can see the top of his head, and then there is a wide shot showing everyone and he is clearly sitting further back in the plane. If its not Aboddon, its another very tall, thin bald black man who hasnt been introduced.

That is definately abaddon. Ive seen Lance Reddick in every episode of the Wire, as well as his stint on OZ, that person sitting there if not Lance Reddick, is a body double, plain and simple.

It'd make sense for Abaddon to be there and for Karen Decker, a representative of Oceanic to nod to him. Remember he introduced himself as representing Oceanic to Hurley in episode 1.

Did Hurley seem to recognize him when he was visited in the first season? I don't remember clearly.

She's Michelle Forbes. Geeks know her best as Ro Laren from Star Trek:TNG, where she was the first Bajoren on the series. I also remember her from 24 where she was the President's assistant I think. If you haven't seen those, then you may recognize her from the bazillion other shows he has guest starred on!

She hasn't been on the show before but I admit that last name, "Decker", does seem familiar.

Now, maybe, the conversation in the cockpit makes a little more sense. (Pilot & Co-pilot) if Abaddon is who they are referring to.

In the screenshots, it looks like Mystery Man is wearing giant headphones. Either to communicate with the cockpit; or to drown out the ambient noise. But that might explain why the Losties feel able to speak freely.

It would be a very wierd place for Abaddon to be.

Anyways, I think this speculation is a bit far-fetched. It's clearly a white guy with headphones on and I don't think it's a stretch to think they had more than just the pilot and co-pilot on the plane.

The pilots were flying a group of people who died in a plane crash...that's what they were talking about.

When the cargo door opens and the 6 are stepping off and there is a coast guard officer standing to our left (Losties right).. Looks like he is operating the door and making sure they get off ok. Mystery solved. lol

We know that Abaddon introduces himself to Hurley at the hospital as from Oceanic Airlines. He doesn't seem to think that Hurley knows him in that scene, so they probably didn't talk on the plane, if it's Abaddon.

However, in iowalost815's second screencap, it looks like an older white guy with a receeding hairline, just like LostLaura said, IMHO. Widmore? However, in one of the other screencaps, from far away, it looks like Abaddon. In the first screencap that iowalost815 posted, it doesn't look like a person at all, IMHO. It just looks like some object, something other than a person, behind Karen.

By the way, will we see anymore of her next year, I wonder? And what about the rumor that Ben owned Oceanic Airlines?

Ok now I certainly see the headphones now in these screen shots. Close up the man's skin seems to light to be Abaddon. However on the long shot he does seem to be wearing a similar suit and his long legs are appropriate to Abaddon's height. Might just be the light.

I think she's smiling because she's embarrassed to be wearing heels in a cargo plan that has hooks and holes in the floor for securing cargo. You'd think anybody who's from an airline would have realized that and worn more "sane" shoes for this flight.

She may have seen a load-master, or another crew member and tried to smile off the "instability" from the bump in the air that almost made her fall... :)

hello guys, new member here, put me down for the crew member camp. It's my understanding a C-130 flies with a loadmaster, regardless of the cargo.

Business suit? That's a flight suit. You can tell it's loose fitting, and you can make out an arm patch. The HC-130 has a crew of 5-7, and that dude is one of them.

wow you guys are crazy, I didn't even notice this, I just rewatched the start there is definitely someone there and notice when Karen Decker walked off they showed Aaron and Kate and moved the camera enough to see the persons legs, but not far enough to see a face. DAMN!!!

I guess it is just the crew from the plane though. Would of been cool if it was someone else though.

Even if it is just crew, I wonder why the 06 talk so freely around the person. Even if it is loud on the carrier, there is still a danger that their conversation about the "story" could be overheard.
