View Full Version : Where did the Island go?
MinnieVanMommie 05-30-2008, 12:28 AM Ok so we know it moved....did it move in time or in space....will the inhabitors know where it went?
I think it moved in both time AND space....but i have no idea where....
erin1679 05-30-2008, 12:31 AM It looked like it was sucked under the ocean!
That was my question, too. I wonder if it moved about 3 years into the future, so it moved to a time that parallels the flash forwards we have been seeing this season....
MinnieVanMommie 05-30-2008, 12:39 AM yes i was thinking it would be parallell to the flash fowards...but since i also think Locke will be alive again once he gets back ot the island....i therefore think it is somewhere in the past...

That's an interesting idea. But the weird thing is that it, like, looked like it was sucked into the ocean, there was this little after-effect bubble thing.
Clearly, it is a space and time movement, since that has been alluded to FOREVER on the show, and it was blatantly explained in the Orchid.
MinnieVanMommie 05-30-2008, 12:43 AM so do you think it became a snow globe type bubble in the water???
Jack Sawyer 05-30-2008, 12:48 AM I dont think it went underwater, guys. I think what we saw was what would happen if the island just blinked away and the water kinda rushed in around the edges...but it did sorta make it look like it submerged. That's my take anyways.
rabidranger 05-30-2008, 12:55 AM It's a shame The Orchid orientation video wasn't completed....The Island went to a differant time, thereby occupying a differant space. My guess is it's still "there" in one way or another, but it can't be seen or accessed until it's time matches the outside world. How that will be accomplished is anyone's guess. Interesting that John got off somehow. The Temple? The bad stuff that happened on the Island when the O6 left makes me wonder if "Christian Shepherd" aka Jacob isn't exactly a good a guy, and has started ti run amok now that he's booted Ben and has a new lackey in Locke. I guess Locke's bitten off more than he can chew?
ozieozwall 05-30-2008, 01:08 AM Think "wormhole." That is what I saw when the island disappeared. So if that is true it moved through time and space to a different location on the earth. Time is relative so a dead Locke is most likely still alive on the island as is the bunny numbered 15.
Chuckp123 05-30-2008, 01:09 AM I'm thinking that it moved backwards in time. Some of the Losties who are still on the island or going to become the "Adam and Eve" that they find in the caves during season 1.
RogerRoger 05-30-2008, 01:22 AM Ben turned the wheel clockwise, if the island could go either forward or back in time would that indicate that the island was moved to the future?
BillToons 05-30-2008, 01:23 AM it did seem to appear to submerge underwater. Made me think... Can Sawyer and Juliet swim well enough?
On the beach on a sinking island is not a good place to be. Lots of dead people under that beach... Nikki, Paulo, Libby and Anna to name a few.
Locke did say nothing stays buried on this Island for long.
orson_wilder 05-30-2008, 01:33 AM I don't think it moved 3 years in the future, because they said a lot of bad things happened on the island since they left. I have a feeling next season will be present-day off island and flashbacks to the last 3 y ears on-island.
workingmom 05-30-2008, 02:01 AM Well, if anyone wants to say Lost jumped the shark, this would give them plenty of reason to. I mean, come on.
shyguy 05-30-2008, 02:05 AM back... to the future!
Fierro 05-30-2008, 02:13 AM Well, if anyone wants to say Lost jumped the shark, this would give them plenty of reason to. I mean, come on.
That was pretty much expected to happen....
Charlie 05-30-2008, 02:15 AM I dont think it went underwater, guys. I think what we saw was what would happen if the island just blinked away and the water kinda rushed in around the edges...but it did sorta make it look like it submerged. That's my take anyways.
Absolutely. It was the aftermath of the island disappearing in a physical sense. The island did not just become Atlantis.
MinnieVanMommie 05-30-2008, 01:31 PM i dont want to think it bacame an atlantis either.....but since it moved....i have to wonder where it would move to...i mean can it move accross the continent like to the atlantic ocean?
