The writers left little doubt after There's No Place Like Home which is the epic romantic couple of Lost now that Desmond and Penny have vacated the throne.

I don't really consider them finding each other after so long and presumably ending up together, vacating the throne. That to me seems like they firmly attached themselves to that throne more than any other couple on the show at this point.

No offense to anyone, but I hate when people use abbreviations for things when they could just type them out - especially when it comes to things like this and episode titles. Not everyone knows what you mean! It took me 5 minutes earlier to figure out what SNBH meant - I only found out when I went to actually look at the episode names! :p
