View Full Version : How is Ben going to convince them all to go back?
ManOfScience6 05-30-2008, 01:05 AM The last scene with Ben and Jack (brilliant by the way) Ben states that they must all go back. Jack goes on and explains why everyone single one of the O6 either can't or won't go back. Ben responds "leave that up to me"....
What do you think Ben has up his sleeve now?
EDIT: Also mentioned below, Do you think that also includes Desmond and Frank since they left?
Honbun26 05-30-2008, 01:07 AM He's going to speak softly and use his big stick!
BillToons 05-30-2008, 01:08 AM Well I figure it's a good reason to watch the next season. :)
ManOfScience6 05-30-2008, 01:09 AM It really intrigues me. I wasn't sure if his response was meant for everyone or just for Kate, because he said it after Jack said that Kate didn't want anything to do with him. I was assuming it was for everyone though.
By the way, do you think that includes Desmond and Frank?
ZoeWashburne 05-30-2008, 01:10 AM Yeah, I'm interested to see how this is going to play out. We know Jack and Hurley want to go back already. Sayid doesn't have a great life anymore/is already working for Ben, so it could be easy enough for him to agree. Locke is dead, so just throw him in the cargo hold and he's coming along. I think Sun and Kate are going to be the toughies, Sun especially because of her apparent connection with Widmore. I really don't know what will cause them to go back.
EmptyJar 05-30-2008, 01:17 AM I think Sun would want in, to go along
but i think she'd help widmore too if she did.. which would suck. But she def wants to go back so maybe something convinced her that Jin may have survived that boom.

I got the impression that he was referring to Kate specifically. There's some weird connection between the two of them. And it's not romantic.
We might assume that Sun wants to get revenge on Ben by helping Widmore, but what if she actually blames Widmore for Jin's death and is pulling a con on him? What if Paik and Widmore are actually allies against Ben, and Sun's sympathies now lie with Ben? So much to speculate...

Well my friend, we have enough time unfortunately to speculate! :frown:

Good point! I like that idea! a little twist there for us.
Kathleen1 05-30-2008, 09:36 PM I was thinking last night that if the 6 of them have to go back with dead Locke would they have to take Walt, Frank(to fly them in), Desmond, and Ji Yeon to go also they were all there in one way or another:undecide:
Aeryn1966 05-30-2008, 10:52 PM I made a previous prediction that all would have to go back to the island, or none of them could. But after the episode where Ben vowed to kill Widmore's daughter, I'm wondering if it was just a ploy for Ben to get to Penny.
Lost_in_1972 05-31-2008, 10:09 AM Getting Sun back is easy...
"Ehhh Sun I have to tell you that Jin survived and was rescued back in the island but he was badly injured and cannot make a lengthy travel, but you can go to see him..."
AuntBaboo89 05-31-2008, 01:03 PM Was Ben lying when he said he couldn't go back to the island? (Were his tears at the donkey wheel sincere?)
If so, what if he needs the O6 to be his vehicle to get back. Purely for his own agenda - not that the island needs them.
Rheems 05-31-2008, 01:23 PM This topic touches on one of the reasons why I was disappointed with the final scene: the "challenge" really isn't much of a challenge at all for Ben, if you think about it. Sun doesn't want to go back? Tell her Jin's still alive. Kate doesn't want to go back? Tell her Sawyer's in serious trouble. Concoct some "proof" if necessary.
*shrug*
