View Full Version : The Circle of Everchanging Leaders

I believe we have been provided evidence of 3 different island leaders, and that a new one is soon to come, after Locke.

The fact that Locke successfully managed to kill himself in the future, makes me think that whatever work he had to do for The Island, got completed. His work was to lead the Others, and work for the good of The Island. So maybe over the next two seasons, we will see a new leader surface, in the same way that Ben was replaced when a better model was secured. Maybe Locke will become power hungry and abuse the powers like Ben did or lose his connection with the island. Something will happen and he will have to move the island again, and in the process, sacrifice his own island life for The Island.

Did Locke become crippled and wheelchair bound again when he left the island? If so, that would be motive for suicide, in his mind.

And perhaps this is how Widmore lost the island. He was leader once, and had to leave for good when HE moved the island and Ben replaced him. I bet 15 years ago, Widmore lead a cracker-munching Ben through the same routine on the way to the Orchid.

Of those left behind, who would likely become the next leader to take Locke's place? Could Widmore or Ben get a second chance, if they can find it? If not, why would Widmore bother trying? Was Jacob the original leader?

You can't say Ben or John were or are leaders of the others. I think the real leader is Jacob and like Alpert and all the rest take his orders.

All the losties need to be on the island for the Valenzetti equation to happen again. Old theory of mine that still works.

Yes, Jacob is at the top of the hierarchy - the big boss. But Ben and Locke are still in a type of leadership role. Ben told John, and I can't quote, you will find the others _ miles _ of here waiting for you to tell them what to do. Whether you want to call them leaders, messengers or mouthpieces - doesn't matter. The point I am making is that Ben moved the island and can't return. And perhaps that is what happened with both Locke in the future, and Widmore in the past.

I agree with your "old theory" concerning the Valenzetti equation.

Thanks for reviving my post from the back page! It got buried in the Thursday night rush.
